The event is timed to coincide with International Children's Day and dedicated to preserving the historical memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War.
On June 22, 1941, war tore into the lives of civilians, devastating the lives of millions of families. It claimed countless lives. It is especially tragic that children—the most defenseless segment of the population—were among the victims.
The exhibition "War Through the Eyes of Children," opening on the eve of International Children's Day, reminds us of the importance of preserving peace and protecting children from violence, aggression, and the tragedies of war. Children should live in peace, safety, and love!
During the exhibition opening, director Alexander Lenkin and production designer Natalia Zinovieva will discuss their work on the animated documentary project "Memorial Complexes of Belarus."
The first part of the project, released in 2024, introduced viewers to memorial complexes “Ola”, “Bagration”, “Rupture”, “Red Coast”, and “Buinichi Field”. The project's sequel, "Memorial Complexes of Belarus-2," presented in 2025, explores memorials “Brest Hero Fortress”, “Ozarichi”, “Khatyn”, the BM-13 combat vehicle monument, and memorial complex “Stalag-352”.
Visitors to the exhibition will watch the animated film's artwork, learn about historical facts, and discover how contemporary animation helps engage young people with the tragedy of war, human resilience, and the need to preserve historical memory.
The exhibition opening will feature a screening of the animated film "Khatyn: The Unconquered Village" from the "Memorial Complexes of Belarus-2" almanac.
The exhibition opening and film screening will be an important conversation about peace, historical memory, and the responsibility to preserve peace for future generations.
