Inviting students to work during the summer has already become a good tradition. The first shift of young tour guides came to “Khatyn” in 2023, when a cooperation agreement was signed between Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Tank and SMC “Khatyn”. As part of the civil-patriotic project “Preserving Historical Memory for the Sake of the Future”, BSPU students get acquainted with various areas of activity in a museum institution: collecting materials and working with documents, meeting and consulting museum visitors, forming excursion groups and conducting excursions for them.
Over these several years, more than 30 future teachers have tried themselves as tour guides, and some of the student team members have spent several shifts in “Khatyn” and have already become an integral part of the team.
Working in “Khatyn” for future specialists is an invaluable experience in developing the culture of communication, in studying the topic of the genocide of Belarusian people, in preserving historical memory and in conveying reliable information to visitors to the memorial.
On August 21, 2025, a solemn award ceremony was held for the third shift of the student brigade. For the worthy organization of the work of the student brigade, the commander of the brigade Sofia Chernyavskaya, the commissar of the brigade Timofey Makaenka and the deputy dean for ideological and educational work of BSPU Larisa Savich were also noted with gratitude.
We thank all our young employees for their conscientious and active work, for their responsiveness and serious attitude to the tasks set before them, and we hope for further cooperation.
