During the meeting, participants were introduced to the memorials and their exhibits, and learned the history of their creation. The staff of SMC “Khatyn” introduced the audience to the methodological aspects of conducting tours at the sites for different categories of visitors.
Particular attention was paid to ensuring that future tour guides, guide-interpreters, and tour group managers adhere to the laws and regulations in force in the Republic of Belarus governing tourism and culture. The rules for visiting memorials were examined in detail, as well as the provisions of Article 186 of the Culture Code of the Republic of Belarus, which stipulates that only full-time museum employees have the right to conduct tours on the grounds of memorial complexes. The legal consequences of violating these laws were also discussed.
These annual meetings, which have become traditional thanks to their practical focus, facilitate the professional development of course participants and contribute to the development of the country's tourism sector.
