The sacrament for the new recruits of Minsk Region rescuers took place at the Mound of Glory

28.07.2026

On July 25, Belarus celebrated its professional holiday – Fire Service Day, a fast for those who risk their lives every day to save others.

As part of the Fire Service Day celebrations on July 28, 2026, a ceremonial oath ceremony for the new recruits of the firefighting service took place at the Mound of Glory memorial complex. Today, fifty-nine new recruits, including nine women, took the oath, confirming their readiness to protect the country's security.

The ceremony was attended by Sergei Lapanovich, Head of Minsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations; Alexander Shilak, former Head of Minsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations; active rescuers; and the families and friends of the new recruits. To the accompaniment of a solemn march, an honor guard carried the Banner and the Gonfalon Banner of  Minsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

"An oath isn't just words; it's a deep imprint on the heart. This is the vow you've made to yourself, your country, and every citizen of our country, for whom you're willing to risk your lives. You are that shield, that hope, that invisible force that comes to the rescue in the most difficult moment, when it's least expected. Always remember this. Today, you've become part of one large and close-knit family of rescuers. A family where everyone is ready to come to the aid of a brother in arms at any moment. Your way is difficult and challenging. But remember: set the most challenging and ambitious goals possible, don't be afraid of difficulties, and move only forward. The motto of our ministry is: 'Professionalism. Courage. Honor.' I wish you to carry these words with you throughout your lives," Sergei Lapanovich, head of Minsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, addressed the new recruits.

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of these young rescuers. Congratulations to the new additions to Minsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and wish them success in fulfilling their important mission—serving the Fatherland!
