A delegation from Fergana Region of Uzbekistan visited memorial complex the "Mound of Glory"

29.10.2026

On October 29, 2026, a delegation from Fergana Region of Uzbekistan, led by the khokim Khayrullo Bozarov, visited memorial complex the "Mound of Glory".

During the visit, the delegation laid flowers at the base of the monument, honoring the memory of the heroes who perished during the Great Patriotic War. The visit program also included a tour of the memorial complex, during which the guests explored the open-air exhibition and learned about the history of the Mound of Glory.

The memorial complex symbolizes the victory over fascism – a victory to which nearly 2 million residents of Uzbekistan contributed – while 32 natives of that country were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for their role in the liberation of Belarus.

Information: During the war, 1.5 million people from other republics of the USSR were evacuated to Uzbekistan, including over 250,000 children. Notably, not a single evacuated child ended up in an orphanage or boarding institution – all of them were taken in by Uzbek families.

The visit underscored the importance of preserving historical memory and strengthening cultural ties between regions and states.
