The exhibition “In her eyes is the fate of the people” has opened at the museum of memorial complex “Khatyn”

30.10.2026

On October 30, 2026, the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the artist Svyatoslav Fedorenko and the Year of the Belarusian Woman took place at SMC “Khatyn”.

Svyatoslav Fedorenko is a monumental artist and a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists. He works in the genres of thematic composition, portraiture, and landscape. His works are held in museums across Belarus, as well as in private collections abroad.

The Belarusian artist received congratulations from the administration of SMC “Khatyn”, as well as from his colleagues: Alexander Dranets, First Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Artists, and Vladimir Urodnich, an Honored Worker of Arts of the Republic of Belarus.

The event was also attended by young artists from Logoisk Children's Art School.

At the heart of the exhibition are depictions of Belarusian women. In the work of Svyatoslav Fedorenko, a woman is not merely the heroine of a portrait; she is a guardian of national traditions and spiritual values, and the moral pillar of the family. Her image embodies Belarus itself - a land of mothers who saw their sons off to the front, awaited the return of their husbands, raised children amidst the ruins, and held fast to a belief in life even when death and despair reigned all around. These women raised those who defended the Motherland, fought on the front lines of the Great Patriotic War, liberated their native land and Europe from Nazism, and hoisted the banners of Victory.

A special place in the exhibition is held by the painting "Remember! The Call of Khatyn," created by the artist in 2019 in memory of the burned-down Belarusian village. The exhibition is further complemented by landscapes of Belarus.

Following the event, guests were invited on a tour of the museum and memorial complex, where they learned more about the history of Khatyn.

We invite you to view the exhibition "In her eyes is the fate of the people," located in the lobby of the museum at Memorial Complex “Khatyn”!
