

Every year on April 2, Belarus and Russia celebrate the Day of Unity of the Peoples of the two countries at the state level. The history of this memorable date goes back to 1996, when the Treaty on the Creation of the Community of Belarus and Russia was signed on April 2.
Today, March 21, the memorial complex “Khatyn” was visited by the delegation of the European Union in the Republic of Belarus. The delegation included representatives of Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Italy, Romania, Poland, Finland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Great Britain, Bulgaria and Sweden.
On March 20, 2025, the SMC “Khatyn” was visited by a delegation of organizers and participants of the socially significant project "Space Unites Generations of the Union State". As part of this project, a children's drawing competition "Glorious Pages of the History of the Fraternal Peoples of Russia and Belarus - We Are Together" is being held, which is aimed at fostering patriotism and spiritual and moral values in young citizens of the two countries.
On March 22, the day of remembrance of Belarusian village burned by punitive forces 82 years ago, events dedicated to the 82nd anniversary of the tragedy were held at memorial complex “Khatyn”. They began with a liturgy and a funeral service in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
On March 22, 2025, memorial events dedicated to the 82nd anniversary of the tragedy in Khatyn village will be held from 10:00 to 19:00. It is planned to hold a procession "People's laying on" with the participation of the country's top officials, heads of state bodies, labor collectives, public organizations. About 3 thousand guests from Belarus, the Russian Federation, and the CIS countries are expected.
